Cave is recognized as the largest
cave in Asia, With 9 openings
on the ceiling, so the cave
got the name for that. Airflow
within its passages indicates
a vast area yet to be explored.
Cave tours provide opportunities
for viewing this pristine cave
system and its wide variety
of speleothems including stalactites,
stalagmites, draperies, frostwork,
flowstone, box work and hydromagnesite
balloons. The cave is an important
hibernaculum for several species
of bats.
Kuzhu village
Situates 6 km away from Jiutian
cave, originated in Tang dynasty
and came to its summit of prosperity
in Ming &Qing dynasty, it
is one of the few old villages
lives to now around this area.
Itinerary
After breakfast in the morning,
start off by car; it takes 2.5
hours to reach Jiutian cave,
3 hours exploration in the cave.
In the afternoon, drive 6km
to Kuzhu village, 1-hour tour
in the village and then drive
back to Zhangjiajie city, and
have dinner
